The rabbit hunter III
Crete: the aftermath
based on the true events of wwii

pray for safe passage...
The nail-biting conclusion to “The Rabbit Hunter” Greece and Crete series is due for publication in March or April 2025.

The third book opens where the second book ended: Second Lieutenant Neil Rankin standing on a deserted beach in southern Crete, late May 1941.

The beach should have been crowded with the remnants of the army which had faced Hitler’s elite airborne divisions, and all but overcome them.

But where were they?

Rankin knows the first duty of every soldier is to evade capture and escape. He also has a very personal reason to get back to Egypt and Allied lines. To do so he will have to come to terms with failure. His efforts to lay to rest the ghosts of military disaster set the scene for a succession of increasingly intense and difficult decisions he must make if he is to lead his men to safety.

Rankin must navigate a complex web of personal trials and public conflicts before he might dare to believe in salvation. That it arrives in an unexpected guise simply adds another moral dilemma to his already over-burdened mind.

Even then, the cost of freedom continues to mount, paid in bitter coin tarnished with tragedy.

The climactic sea-borne finale will leave readers with their hearts racing and on the edge of their seats. This is another book from the pen of Christopher Worth which readers will find impossible to put down.
